Everybody loves movies. Well, most of us do at any rate. Most of us are also on Facebook, so why not combine the two? There are tons of FB pages dedicated to specific actors or actresses, but it can be a bit of a chore to find the best celebratory pages for the whole wide world of cinema. Here are the four greatest ones in all of Facebookdom:
About: “Launched in September 2012. The Best Lines From The Movies We Love.”
This page is pretty unique and a lot of fun. It exclusively features movie lines typed over screen caps depicting the corresponding moments in each film. There’s The Thin Red Line: “I don’t feel anything. I don’t care about anything anymore. — Sounds like bliss”, Warm Bodies: “There’s nothing hotter than a girl with brains”, and Hitchcock’s classic Spellbound: “People read about love as one thing and experience it as another”. You’ll find Detachment: “We all have problems we’re dealing with. Some days were better than others. Some days were not so great. Some days we have limited space for others”, Dallas Buyer’s Club: “I got one life, right? Mine. But I want somebody else’s sometimes”, Rocky IV: “Going in one more round when you don’t think you can… that’s what makes all the difference in your life”, Silver Linings Playbook: “You let me lie to you for a week? — I was trying to be romantic”, and Three Colours: Blue: “I don’t want any belongings, any memories. No friends, no love. Those are all traps”. So if you’re fan of good quotes, this is the page for you!
About: “Best Movies Ever Entertainment News breaking entertainment news, best movie & tv reviews that the studios don’t want you to know about ever. We cover everything from the best movies, television ever along with our gift idea reviews and hot technology gadget news that has gotten us some great notices. Our new Social Twits section has taken off quickly and gives us some of the best news about movie and tv stars you could imagine!”
I had to look up the tag #MCM (ManCandyMonday, if you believe it), a weekly post on this page. This week features Thor (also known as Chris Hemsworth), but it’s not merely a photo drool-fest, the #MCM always accompanies current movie news with a link to an article; this week covers Thor: Ragnorak. But it’s not all playfulness, they feature more serious cinematic news as well. You’ll find new posts about Nicole Kidman and James Franco in the new production of Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert (touted as a ‘female Lawrence of Arabia‘). There’s more information about what’s in store for the X-Men franchise: “The X-Men future appears to have a great deal in store. If you thought that last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past was a reinvention of the 14-year-old superhero franchise, then you’ve got another thing coming, according to helmer Bryan Singer.” There’s also video vlogs and box office news, and this page is updated constantly.

There’s a recent post about “The Sad History of Hollywood’s Wild One: Marlon Brando”, one about Disney’s animated classic with the awesome headline: “I hate thinking about a world where Lady and the Tramp almost never existed”, and a fun link if you really want to see “5 Gary Cooper Photos To Make You Swoon”. You can read all about “The 12 Best Action Movies Streaming on Netflix”, “The Top 10 Movies That Revive Romance”, and “8 Reasons Why The Western Will Never Die”. You’ll find “Proof that no one could touch McQueen (‘How McQueen Chases McQueen in The Great Escape‘)”. There are even themed blogs like the one for the 4th of July which celebrates the best fireworks scenes in movies.
About: “Started on March 15, 2012. This page [was] created to share the best movies, actors, cinematographers, etc…”
The current cover photo features a very serious black and white image of Arnold Schwarzenegger with his iconic phrase “I’ll be back” struck out in red – “I’m back” is “handwritten” beneath. This page is fun and clearly run by very enthusiastic movie lovers. You’ll find adoring photos of Italian actress Monica Bellucci, behind-the-scenes pictures of Hollywood heavyweight Al Pacino and director Brian De Palma from the set of Scarface, a black and white shot of a thoughtful Christian Bale, and a loving tribute montage of Meryl Streep, who is apparently the admin’s favourite actress. They also post some great movie lines along with the photos like Donnie Brasco‘s “Get a pair of pants. This ain’t a fucking rodeo. Dress like I dress.” Movie news is covered as well, like the recent post for The Transporter Refueled: “(known as Transporter 4) is an upcoming French-Chinese action thriller film. Frank Martin, played by newcomer Ed Skrein, a former special-ops mercenary, is now living a less perilous life – or so he thinks – as an independent agent contracted to transport classified packages for questionable people. The film stars Ed Skrein as Frank Martin with Ray Stevenson, Gabriella Wright.” Current movie synopses are also posted such as a recent article about Mad Max 4: Fury Road. New posts appear a few times a day.
