We can’t seem to get enough of good quotes whether it’s in book form, on calendars, or online. Often, though, these collections all feature one theme. Facebook is a great place to look for a thoroughly diverse collection. I’ve found four pages with selections ranging from inspirational to downright snarky, and no matter what kind of words please you, you’re sure to find a worthy page below.
About: “Welcome to “Inspiring and Positive Quotes” This page is dedicated to providing daily positive, inspirational, motivational quotes, stories with video and photographs. My goal is to inspire, motivate, empower, make a positive difference in others lives, to make you think, to give you courage, to share a smile, to help ease your burdens, and to reinforce good and help you enjoy the blessings of a spiritual life filled with joy, health, peace, prosperity, happiness, and abundance. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.”
If you like sweet, quick sound-byte quotations, this is the page for you. The cover photo is a tapestry of bright colours bearing the words: “Life is short, break the rules! Forgive quickly, kiss slowly! Love truly, laugh uncontrollably! Never regret anything that made you smile! :)” The pinned quote is in the style of old samplers: “Never forget the people who take time out of their day to check up on you.”
Some of the quotes are presumably written by the admins, such as this one: “Life is about trusting our feelings, taking chances, finding happiness, appreciating the memories and learning from the past.” Another meme reads, “’If you spend your energy condemning and judging the people who mistreat you, it puts you in a condemning and judging mindset, which subconsciously makes you feel condemned and judged too. The more judgemental you are, the worse your self-esteem will be.’ – Kimberly Giles”. While there are mostly quotes on this page, they do share the occasional article. One such piece shared features the headline, “Husband tells wife to remember their wedding day, then they die holding hands” , and there is a sweet introduction by the admin. While some of the quotes are unattributed, the admin does try to give credit, and there is a caveat in the ‘About’ section stating that the admins are happy to provide citation if they know the source. The admins post often, sometimes as much as every hour!
About: “A platform dedicated to help every human to bring sunshine in their lives through positivity! LikeLoveQuotes.com is owned by a Millennial Generation News & Media Content Publishing Company – Reckon Mind Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. We deliver you something that is everywhere in this world, perhaps you need to find it with your heart. That “something” is LOVE! All tangled up in your own feelings? Want to feel loved? Or want to make somebody feel loved? May it be anything related to love, we provide you everything. From tricks and tips to mesmerizing love quotes.”
“10 Million Hearts and Counting (Infinite Gratitude, Infinite Hopes)” reads the cover photo. The most recent meme says, “Don’t rush anything. When the time is right, it’ll happen”. In addition to the many quotations, Like Love Quotes also shares blog entries linked from their website. One entry is entitled “How to cheer up your partner” and begins with “No relationship is completely smooth. Every relationship has ups and downs. But a real relationship, real love and care, is when you can actually cheer up your partner from all the rough patches”.
Another article tells you all about the “9 habits happy couples have but never talk about”. You’ll also find editorials like this one: “5 reasons why being single is not so bad”. There are practical entries dishing out ‘friend zone’ advice: “I don’t love him but he is important in my life: What to do?” The admins share spiritual quotes as well as romantic ones, like this one, “’Dear God, I wanna take a minute, not to ask for anything from you, but simply to say thank you for all I have. – Prakhar Sahay”. There’s a meme reminding us that “Just because someone is strong enough to handle pain, doesn’t mean they deserve it”. Another meme depicts a loving couple, the words read, “You meet thousands of people and none of them really mean anything to you, and then you meet one person, and your life is changed forever”. There are memes just meant for sharing: “Yes, I’m thinking about you right now”. Fastidious language lovers should be forewarned that while some of the punctuation and grammar mechanics are a bit lacking, the quotes always have positive and heartfelt messages despite the few minor errors.

Lovely blue, green, yellow, and pink flowers with diamond buds surround the cover photo of this eclectic page. A bit contrary to the page title, there really are more comical memes here rather than quotes. One of the most recent memes shows six blocks with the top three rows labelled as “1994”: “Pre-Run”, “Run”, “Post-Run”. The man stretches, runs, and towels off with water after his work-out. The bottom row shows “2014” and the man struggles with his iPod as he moves to “…select music… set GPS… turn on running app…”, the next shows him snapping a photo: “SELFIE!”, before he sits in front of his laptop: “…update status…”.
Another meme: “Gaming: Then and Now”. “Then: Secrets: I finally unlocked all the secret characters and levels! – Now: I finally paid for all the secret characters and levels!” You’ll see a comedic look at the difference between modern parents and those fifty years ago: “1960: These grades are terrible!!” the parents, holding a “F” report card, yell at their son: “2010: These grades are terrible!!” the parents, holding a “F” report card, yell at the teacher. The admins post some funny joke quotes: “Difference between COMPLETE & FINISH. When you marry the right one, you are COMPLETE.. And when you marry the wrong one, you are FINISHED. And when the “right one” catches you with the “wrong one”, You are… COMPLETELY FINISHED”. There’s a meme of a sad everyman staring straight ahead, the caption reads, “I walk around like everything is fine, but deep down, inside me shoe, my sock is sliding off”.
About: “We are here to spread AWESOMENESS!!”
Well, if you’re a pop culture fan, you will most definitely love this page. The profile picture features a very awesome Neil Patrick Harris giving an enthusiastic thumbs up, while the cover photo shows a dashing Robert Downey Jr, looking thoroughly cool as always, with his now trademark quote: “Listen, smile, agree, and then do whatever the f*ck you were gonna do anyway.” There are a lot of inspirational quotes here, too, like this recent one: “You were given this life because you were strong enough to live it”.
There are snarky – or would cynical be more suiting – words as well, such as “Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people”. Another one reads, “They said dress for the job you want so I walked in dressed better than the boss”. You’ll find a lot more success quotes, like this one: “Work like there is someone working 24 hours a day to take it away from you”. However, I’m not sure of the connection between some of the photos and the quotes. For instance, a black and white shot of James McAvoy bears the words “The wrong people always teach you the right life lessons” but the quote isn’t attributed to him. Another example: Leonardo DiCaprio sits, moody and distant, “Never forget why you started”. The admin also shares some interesting observations: “Remember those days when people had diaries & got mad when someone read them. Now they put everything on Facebook and get mad when people don’t read them.!! ”.
