Agree or not, many people live by the old adage “clothes make the wo/man”. For centuries, the world has been obsessed with clothing, with the public attuned to looking a certain way, and that fashion fascination has only continued to grow over the years. Now, in our modern digital age where sharing is easier than ever, the love of fashion has exploded. People from all walks of life are sharing their favourite looks, trends, and couture news with fellow fashionistas. Aspiring fashion photographers and models also take to social media to share their flare. Here are the 7 best fashion sites on Tumblr:
“Style is a way of saying who you are, without speaking. Samantha and Tessa.”
Staying true to its subject, Fashion is Endless is a lovely site for the eye to behold. It’s sleek and easy to navigate. Full of a pleasing mixture of colours and black and white photography, this blog has everything a fashion lover could hope for. The blog runners, Samantha and Tessa, also accept fashion questions, and they provide friendly advice for any of your fashion needs. They also have a lot of gushing fan messages asking them to check out personal blogs, and Samantha and Tessa always respond with very warm and kind regards. This is one of the most upbeat Tumblr blogs I’ve ever seen.

Recently celebrating the three year mark, This is a Fashion Blog focuses mostly on celebrity fashion with a plethora of shots of Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Emma Watson, Kate Moss, and other high profile fashionistas. This page also contains a lot of fashion-inspired quotes such as: “What you wear is how you present yourself to the world – especially today when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language – Miuccia Prada”. The page administrator also answers fashion questions in a fun and friendly manner. This is exactly the type of page Summer Roberts would approve of.
“Fashion, Street-Style blog that lists trends of the moment and ones to come. Got a question? You can ask me anything you want! 269947 Babes Follow me on Instagram @robbieheads ”
This is one of the more fun and quirky fashion foward tumblr blogs out there. You’ll find a lot of cute street scenes here, anywhere from deliberate shots of models strutting down a busy street to candid shots of the Duchess of Cambridge. There are also silly shots, like the one of a shadow of a hand hovering over a woman’s rear end encased in a pair of way too tight shorts – or the one of a model picking her teeth. There are, of course, also many standard photos of very skinny people wearing very pretty clothes. So, this page is a nice blend of funny and fashion.
“CHANTAL ADAIR FILES STREET STYLE”
Chantal Adair is a fashion photographer who maintains her own personal Tumblr blog, Facebook page, and Instagram account. She’s an up and coming photographer, and she was even invited to be one of the lucky few bloggers to represent Tumblr at New York Fashion Week. Her photos are sleek and original, and she has a penchant for coaxing models to strike fun poses, including jumping in the air – even when they’re wearing stiletto heels!

This is the sexy side of fashion photography. This blog focuses on sultry poses and on all things sensuous. Although you will find some nudity on this page, it mostly is made up of suggestive photos, with models decked in wet swimsuits or lacy lingerie – think Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The Style Addict also features some still life photography, which consists mostly of exotic locales, unique doorways, and fashionable clothing. Even though there are some less provocative photos, this page is definitely on the seductive side.
“This blog features Fashionistas, Beauties, Models, Fashion Apparel & Accessories, and Luxury/Glamours Lifestyles.”
One quick look at this blog and you’ll instantly see the happy diversity found within the many models featured on this Tumblr. It’s refreshing to see so many different ethnicities represented in a vogue world that’s unfortunately dominated by a very specific idea of beauty. Another defining feature of Beauties, Fashionists, & All Things Fashion!! is the way it spotlights everyday fashionistas rather than merely regurgitating the latest professional photos of models. Here you’ll find women sharing pictures (lots of selfies) of their own ideas of fashion, as well as more high fashion photos taken by aspiring photographers and models. There are some professional photos shared on this blog, too, but it’s largely a space for showcasing the trends of the everywoman.
This is another Tumblr maintained by a talented fashion photographer. Carter was also invited to be one of the selected photographers who were fortunate enough to represent Tumblr at the New York Fashion Week. I really enjoy this page, more than most of the others, because it’s certainly one of the most original and diverse fashion blogs out there. Carter photographs so many different types of people, and the photography is always interesting, full of everyday sights, street scenes, both models and “ordinary” people alike, and still life.
